Kimberley Ashwin

Hello my name is Kimberley and I am a Autism Consultant Nurse and also the CEO at Autism Oxford UK.

I am a proud mum of 3 gorgeously unique children; two of which are autistic, ADHD and dyslexic. As a SEN mum I have had first hand experience of what it is like trying to navigate complex health and education systems to advocate for your child.

I am also a registered learning disability nurse with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC), and developed my passion in supporting autistic individuals early in my career. I have completed further learning around supporting autistic people and people with a learning disability with co occurring mental health needs as well as specialised in the autistic PDA profile and the overlay with ADHD. I am trained in a range of diagnostic tools, and provide clinical leadership to the team at Autism Oxford UK

I have also completed extensive leadership programmes, and co chair the National Autism Consultant Nurse Network and have worked as a independent clinical advisor for C(E)TR’s and worked as part of the NICE committee for ADHD. I have led the development of services both in the NHS and in the independent sector and continue to support the system in developing better services for autistic people.
