I’m a Learning Disability Nurse registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). I qualified as a nurse in 2008 and since then have had the privilege of getting to know many children and adults with learning disabilities as well as ASD and ADHD and their families. I have experience of working in a variety of settings including respite, community teams, and schools. As well as working with individuals and their families I have also spent time working with Health, Education, and Social Care to ensure that individuals’ needs are met holistically.
I am a mum and love spending time with my family some of whom are neurodivergent. Being a mum to a neurodivergent child has given me first-hand experience of the struggles families can face, particularly in education.
Outside of work, I love spending time with friends and family, I enjoy listening to music and seeing live music when I can, various crafts, having meals out, and being outside in the woods or by the sea.
