Hi, my name is Diane and I am a Neurodevelopment Consultant Midwife at Autism Oxford UK and the lead of NeuroNuture Perinatal Services.
The NeuroNuture Perinatal Service supports health professionals to provide equality and inclusion for the neurodiverse community during pregnancy and parenthood. Providing specialist training for health and social care professionals, perinatal training, consultations, and commissioned services. This trailblazing and unique service also provides webinars, one-to-one support, consultations, diagnostic services, and post-diagnostic support for families.
I have authored the Royal College of Midwives e-learning training on Autism in Maternity and collaborated with NHS Trusts, The Perinatal Institute, the Royal College of Midwives, and the National Autistic Society to improve awareness and understanding of the needs of autistic people in pregnancy and childbirth to address health inequalities.
I specialise in supporting families through their autism journey. I understand the complexities of family life from pregnancy and beyond. I am compassionate and caring and have great empathy and understanding for everyone’s unique journey. I have lived experience of autism and can understand the challenges that can present. I have a positive outlook and can help others find solutions and support.
I value kindness and people being able to have their voices heard and respected that is why I like working at Autism Oxford UK.
