Hi, my name is Anna. I am a Peer Support Practitioner and Co Expert Trainer for the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism.
I started my career with a degree in Psychology and then working 1:1 with an autistic ADHD child in a school setting. As well as my role at Autism Oxford UK, I have been working for an Oxfordshire based mental health charity for over 10 years. I also volunteer for Oxfordshire Parent Carers Forum in supporting with the running of their online peer support community that has over 2,500 members.
My interest in neurodivergence developed further following my son’s diagnoses when he was 6 years old. He’s now a teenager and it has been a journey of discovery, in learning about his neurodivergence, and then my own. I support children and their families through the assessment process, drawing on my lived experience and working in a neuroaffirming way.
Outside of work I enjoy walking my two dogs, watching my son play football, listening to music and spending time with family and friends.
