Hello, my name is Alicia! I am a Peer Support Practitioner at Autism Oxford UK.
I was diagnosed with ADHD in 2021 as an adult. This motivated me to work with others seeking a diagnosis for neurodevelopmental conditions.
My role at Autism Oxford UK is to provide support to both clients and caregivers throughout the diagnostic process, whilst utilising my lived experience and clinical knowledge. I help by providing insight into these conditions, and I gain clinical background insight to contribute towards their diagnostic decision. Additionally, I provide peer support to ADHD individuals post-diagnosis and help them to make day-to-day activities easier by working with their brains.
Alongside working for Autism Oxford UK, I am studying a Psychology MSc part-time, which I will finish in August 2024. My master’s thesis focuses on the personal experiences of adult women with ADHD in the UK. Once I graduate, I aim to further specialise in providing ADHD assessments, alongside providing post-diagnosis support to individuals with ADHD.
I love baking, playing board games, reading, bouldering, and spending time with animals (including my two cats).
