Hello, my name is Aleksandra. I work at Autism Oxford UK as a Neurodevelopmental Practitioner. I’ve been a Special Educational Needs teacher for over 15 years, and for the past 10 years, I’ve focused on supporting autistic young people, both in the community—mainly through LEGO based therapy—and within custodial settings in both male and female establishments.
I currently work as a Neurodiversity Lead in one of London’s prisons, where I advocate for and develop tailored support for neurodivergent individuals in custody. Alongside this, I have assessment experience from working with various private clinics.
Academically, I hold a Master’s in Education from the Open University and completed postgraduate studies in Autism at the University of Strathclyde. I’m now finishing my MSc in Psychology and am a PhD candidate, with my research focusing on autistic men with specific offenses in custody.
I have a deep passion for LEGO-based therapy, which I’ve used extensively to support social communication and connection.
Outside of work, I love sewing, gardening, and hiking. Most importantly, I’m a proud mum to a young autistic man who inspires me every single day.
